The Ministry of Equipment and Road Maintenance is entrusted with the implementation and monitoring of the Government’s policy with regard to the provision of infrastructures in the areas of public works. As such, and in coordination with the various Government’s departments concerned, it has the initiative and is in charge of the following actions:
In terms of roads and engineer construction:Project management, monitoring of the design and construction of road networks infrastructure, as well as the maintenance and management regulation.
In terms of air, rail, sea, river and lagoon infrastructures:Project management, monitoring of the design and implementation of airfields, airports, ports, urban and national railways, and river infrastructure, as well as the maintenance and management regulation.
In terms of human hydraulic infrastructure:Project management, monitoring of the design and implementation of public water carriage, village water points and improved hydraulic projects in villages, as well as the maintenance and management regulation.
