Directorate General for Taxation

The Directorate General for Taxation is in charge of:

  • Developing, enforcing the fiscal and parafiscal law and regulation,
  • Negociating and enforcing the international fiscal conventions; conducting tax base assessment, clearance and control of taxes on behalf of the State and local authorities
  • Applying the collection of tax and incidental tax revenues other than Customs duties; managing tax litigation
  • Ensuring the design, production and management of land register in urban and rural areas; Ensuring the land property and hypothecs registry
  • Ensuring the financial management of the State-owned property and of unclaimed assets, and conducting registry and stamp duty activities
  • Promoting tax compliance
