Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Diaspora is responsible for the implementation and the monitoring of the Government's Policy on Ivory Coast Foreign Policy.As such, and in collaboration with the various ministerial departments involved, it has the initiative and is responsible for actions, the most important of which are:
- Represent the Government abroad
- Provide national authorities with relevant information for a proper conduct of the bilateral and international relations
- Carry out or facilitate negotiations with foreign partners on commercial, political, legal, or social issues
- Protect Ivorian citizens abroad.
This basic definition has undergone a significant development which led the Ivorian diplomacy to tackle new tasks nowadays such as:
- Increased ability to mobilise external financial and technological resources within the framework of economic diplomacy
- Forge renewed partnerships with new allies from Asian countries and Arabian Gulf
- The proactive campaign carried out to promote the Ivory Coast's image with a view to reposition the country in the global arena.
